An automaton ${\\bf A}$ is called a retractable automaton if, for every subautomaton ${\\bf B}$ of ${\\bf A}$, there is a retract homomorphism of ${\\bf A}$ onto ${\\bf B}$. In [1] and [3], special retractable automata are examined.
