The first class describes a 2-parameter family of channels given by completely positive (CP) maps $M_3({\\bf C}) \\mapsto M_3({\\bf C})$ which are both unital and trace-preserving. Almost every member of this family is factorizable and extreme in the set of CP maps which are both unital and trace-preserving, but is not extreme in either the set of unital CP maps or the set of trace-preserving CP maps.\n  We also study a large class of maps which generalize the Werner-Holevo channel for $d = 3$ in the sense that they are defined in ","authors_text":"Magdalena Musat, Mary Beth Ruskai, Uffe Haagerup","cross_cats":["math-ph","math.MP","quant-ph"],"headline":"","license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"math.OA","submitted_at":"2020-06-05T13:13:18Z","title":"Extreme Points and Factorizability for New Classes of Unital Quantum Channels"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"2006.03414","kind":"arxiv","version":4},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:23cbd3c09dda2db7275aa18b2c99a653b258d2b1745f9f93f55c53872c93b5b6","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-05T03:33:37Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"5c21fcce8b0af515d336451f8bcb95126be71a6daf1b4ca13bbd0a794473ef1b","cross_cats_sorted":["math-ph","math.MP","quant-ph"],"license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"math.OA","submitted_at":"2020-06-05T13:13:18Z","title_canon_sha256":"cc9f32eff5d1bedbac4cb1b19e324534f6e2a9422d0c69db56da24c073bed624"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"2006.03414","kind":"arxiv","version":4}},"canonical_sha256":"bb488179e7dab1a7f213dc5c02d8e47b5d33ae5c40de2c6847193a2433817c87","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"bb488179e7dab1a7f213dc5c02d8e47b5d33ae5c40de2c6847193a2433817c87","first_computed_at":"2026-07-05T03:33:37.653071Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-05T03:33:37.653071Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"8D3vNn0JRJY0KGKhhkrpRvwRebX4G87CH7tz8U7EfByPJ9FngXKOjkoJmGk1deQQnSn9YWXuWKgs8059FAYNAA==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-05T03:33:37.653533Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"2006.03414","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":4}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:23cbd3c09dda2db7275aa18b2c99a653b258d2b1745f9f93f55c53872c93b5b6","sha256:1d3247ee51abbe834f257d71aabb01e49578f149b065edfea6cb7026375452b2"],"state_sha256":"3dbffd9c9d4d3e96c1e7632fad9b08b05e5c263dcce18d2e88724ab38b8c13d5"}
