This creates a natural set of degeneracies which can undergo thresholdless $\\mathcal{PT}$ transitions. We derive a $\\mathbf{k} \\cdot \\mathbf{p}$ perturbation theory suited to the continuous eigenvalues of such systems in terms of the modes of the underlying Hermitian system.
