Here, we discuss the nature of the thermal phase transition out of this Coulomb phase for a variety of dimer models which energetically favor crystalline dimer states with columnar ordering. For a family of these models we find a direct thermal transition from the Coulomb phase to the dimer crystal. While some systems exhibit (strong) first-order transitions in correspondence with the Landau-Ginzburg-Wilson paradigm, we also find clear numeri","authors_text":"Fabien Alet, Gang Chen, Jan Gukelberger, Leon Balents, Simon Trebst","cross_cats":["cond-mat.str-el"],"headline":"","license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"cond-mat.stat-mech","submitted_at":"2009-03-23T20:00:08Z","title":"Coulomb gas transitions in three-dimensional classical dimer models"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"0903.3944","kind":"arxiv","version":2},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:fae40e73e26b0d50f5ec235359f29c16e3c3eb72a01bc550b6ed18ef6868a1da","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-04T15:46:12Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"a1209d41e1e31b613aaf191ef69eed10f26fad1db0e0eacd08085a81851308bb","cross_cats_sorted":["cond-mat.str-el"],"license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"cond-mat.stat-mech","submitted_at":"2009-03-23T20:00:08Z","title_canon_sha256":"34b379bbd13a509cf7e539d40fbcdcee0c631f56d67649cdd8c5a12e595b3794"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"0903.3944","kind":"arxiv","version":2}},"canonical_sha256":"c728e9a5540820eda4a299644548b45233f077532bda37672553ea87083f5714","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"c728e9a5540820eda4a299644548b45233f077532bda37672553ea87083f5714","first_computed_at":"2026-07-04T15:46:12.354167Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-04T15:46:12.354167Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"Qbm47buRBC/2eGLWm9+NdLgUa3RA/nvHZDKW7yvXPY6DSRTPSbBEZRG9mhIeB8WyTnxtrQmcUy0Bss/rzTBpBw==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-04T15:46:12.354534Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"0903.3944","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":2}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:fae40e73e26b0d50f5ec235359f29c16e3c3eb72a01bc550b6ed18ef6868a1da","sha256:e212c864a3b820fe387dc9f62d823c7dfec523f12a3f17567d8f8b467859b303"],"state_sha256":"3fe5ef0cd22114c3afee3de1275ffc979faf30343d5932c7476b0538898ed0f9"}
