This allows us to characterize nonabelian transitive characteristically simple subgroups $H$ of finite quasiprimitive permutation groups $G$. If the socle of $G$, denoted by $\\mbox{soc}(G)$, is nonabelian, then $H$ lies in $\\mbox{soc}(G)$.
