Retrieval is deterministic term-level FTS plus a hybrid vector-recall channel (which embeds your claim text via an external embedding API), and contradiction edges are off until kill-test 2 passes. A "not novel" here comes with the prior quoted and linked; a "no signal" here comes with the coverage numbers that bound what it means.
