abstract

Critical phenomena in the two-dimensional Ising model with a defect line are studied using boundary conformal field theory on the $c=1$ orbifold. Novel features of the boundary states arising from the orbifold structure, including continuously varying boundary critical exponents, are elucidated. New features of the Ising defect problem are obtained including a novel universality class of defect lines and the universal boundary to bulk crossover of the spin correlation function.

Exactly solvable non-unitary conformal interfaces in unitary CFTs

cond-mat.stat-mech · 2026-06-30 · unverdicted · novelty 7.0

An SL(2,C)-parametrized family of exactly solvable non-unitary conformal interfaces is constructed on the lattice in unitary CFTs via analytic continuation, leading to a non-unitary Cardy condition and logarithmic entanglement with generally complex effective central charge.

Algebras of order parameters in one-dimensional spin systems

cond-mat.str-el · 2026-05-26 · unverdicted · novelty 7.0

String order parameters in 1D gapped phases with invertible or non-invertible symmetries organize into Lagrangian algebras in the Drinfel'd centre via tensor-network module categories.

Complex Conformal Manifolds

hep-th · 2026-06-29 · conditional · novelty 6.0

Complexified exactly-marginal couplings produce solvable complex CFTs, with the Ising defect verified numerically in non-Hermitian chains.

Fusion of Integrable Defects and the Defect $g$-Function

hep-th · 2026-05-20 · unverdicted · novelty 5.0

Derives additivity and fusion rules for defect g-functions in integrable 2D QFT, with effective amplitudes for non-topological cases and lowered entropy contribution in Ising non-topological fusion.
