The paper introduces Event-Model-F, a formal OWL/DL ontology of events built on DOLCE+DnS Ultralite, with six patterns covering participation, mereology, causality, correlation, documentation, and interpretation.
By the use of this ontology and a pattern-oriented design approach, we are able to fulfill the non-functional requirements stated in Section 4
