Dimensional estimates suggest that nuclei with mass number above 10^7 and near-maximal isospin could be metastable, decay by neutron evaporation, and possibly form in neutron star mergers.
This is especially in teresting now in view of recent papers which push the viable lower bound of NSs to about M⊙ [20, 21]
