abstract

An interesting feature of some open superstring models in $D < 10$ is the simultaneous presence, in the spectrum, of gauge fields and of a number of antisymmetric tensor fields. In these cases the Green-Schwarz mechanism can (and does) take a generalized form, resulting from the combined action of all the antisymmetric tensors. These novelties are illustrated referring to some simple rational models in six dimensions, and some of their implications for the low-energy effective field theory are pointed out.

Bounds on Discrete Gauge Symmetries in Supergravity

hep-th · 2025-11-12 · unverdicted · novelty 5.0

Upper bounds are placed on the order of enhanced discrete gauge symmetries in supersymmetric supergravity theories with 8 or more supercharges, with some bounds saturated by string theory examples.

  • Anomaly-Free Spectra, Unimodular Lattices and 6D R-Symmetry Gauged Supergravity hep-th · 2026-05-17 · unverdicted · none · ref 7 · internal anchor

Eleven new anomaly-free 6D supergravity spectra with G_non-Abelian × U(1)_R are exhibited that satisfy Green-Schwarz factorization and global consistency conditions, together with lattice-embeddability theorems for the anomaly coefficients.

  • Rational points in the 6d supergravity landscape and simple current extensions hep-th · 2026-03-18 · unverdicted · none · ref 48 · internal anchor

Rationality of the 2d SCFT on BPS strings provides a consistency criterion that uniquely determines the elliptic genus and global gauge group in a class of 6d supergravity models without tensor multiplets.
