abstract

A standard file format is proposed to store process and event information, primarily output from parton-level event generators for further use by general-purpose ones. The information content is identical with what was already defined by the Les Houches Accord five years ago, but then in terms of Fortran commonblocks. This information is embedded in a minimal XML-style structure, for clarity and to simplify parsing.

Matrix element method at NLO: A fine proof of concept in POWHEG

hep-ph · 2026-06-09 · unverdicted · novelty 6.0

Proof-of-concept for NLO matrix element method via POWHEG projections applied to fully leptonic WW production in SMEFT, demonstrating near-optimal classification of BSM versus SM events using lepton correlations.

RooAgent: An LLM Agent for Root-Based High Energy Physics Analysis

hep-ph · 2026-05-17 · unverdicted · novelty 6.0

RooAgent provides an LLM agent interface that translates natural-language prompts into calls to PyROOT analysis functions for high energy physics tasks, with support for multiple AI backends and tested on ZH simulations and ATLAS open data.

The Monte Carlo Ecosystem in High-Energy Physics: A Primer

hep-ph · 2026-05-15 · accept · novelty 1.0

A primer by six leading developers maps the full Monte Carlo chain (matrix elements, parton showers, hadronisation, detector simulation, tuning, analysis) and the computing and reproducibility issues that come with it.
