abstract
We present the results of time-dependent hydrodynamic calculations of line- driven winds from accretion disks in AGN. To calculate the radiation force, we take into account radiation from the disk and the central engine. The gas temperature and ionization state in the wind are calculated self-consistently. We find that a disk accreting onto a 10^8 MSUN black hole at the rate of 1.8 MSUN/YR can launch a wind at about 10^16 cm from the central engine. The X-rays from the central object are attenuated by the disk atmosphere so they cannot prevent the local disk radiation from pushing matter away from the disk. For a reasonable X-ray opacity, the disk wind can be accelerated by the central UV radiation to velocities of up to 15000 km/s at a distance of about 10^17 cm from the central engine. The covering factor of the disk wind is $\sim 0.2$. The wind is unsteady and consists of an opaque, slow vertical flow near the disk that is bounded on the polar side by a high-velocity stream. A typical column density through the fast stream is a few 10^23 cm^-2. The fast stream contributes nearly 100% to the total wind mass loss rate of 0.5 MSUN/YR.

Two weak X-ray absorption features in quasar WISEA J094835.95+432302.6 at z=1.893 are best explained as iron K-shell lines from gas falling into the supermassive black hole at roughly one third of the speed of light.
LISA spin measurements could exclude scalar and vector ultralight bosons over roughly four orders of magnitude in mass, while post-merger follow-up searches offer a narrower, model-dependent window for detecting vector boson clouds.
Balmer-line absorption occurs in ~35% (14/40) of JWST little-red-dot AGNs, roughly 850x the rate in SDSS type-1 AGNs, with mostly slow blueshifted absorber velocities.
Using simultaneous modeling of continuum lag-spectrum and broadband SED of Fairall 9 with the H0RIZON-AGN model, the authors obtain H0 = 72.4_{-3.7}^{+3.4} km s^{-1} Mpc^{-1}.
A revised ADAF-collapse model, with the transition radius estimated from optical flux changes, yields cooling timescales comparable to the observed sub-year turn-on timescales of two changing-look AGNs.
Variable column density and covering factor of three ionized absorbers in clumpy disk winds explain the X-ray variability in I Zw 1 with stable corona.
In the FRADO model, a photon-flux-dependent cloud emissivity makes broad-line profiles insensitive to the radial scaling of the disk mass-loss rate, while under uniform emissivity a steeper r^-3/2 scaling better matches observed single-peaked profiles.
