abstract

This survey discusses our results and conjectures concerning supersymmetric field theories and their relationship to cohomology theories. A careful definition of supersymmetric Euclidean field theories is given, refining Segal's axioms for conformal field theories. We state and give an outline of the proof of various results relating field theories to cohomology theories.

Elliptic Genera of 2d $\mathcal{N}=(0,1)$ Gauge Theories

hep-th · 2025-08-09 · unverdicted · novelty 7.0

Derives a residue formula for elliptic genera in 2d (0,1) gauge theories that recovers the Jeffrey-Kirwan prescription for (0,2) theories and applies it to the Gukov-Pei-Putrov model to study its phase structure.

String dualities and wedge singularities

hep-th · 2026-06-03 · unverdicted · novelty 5.0

Worldsheet effects from wedge singularities plus D0-brane emergence reproduce the tree-level tachyon mass in type 0A strings within a specific scaling limit.

Heterotic Strings on Enriques Surfaces

hep-th · 2026-05-22 · unverdicted · novelty 5.0 · 2 refs

Classifies shift vectors for heterotic orbifolds on Enriques surfaces, analyzes spectra, and interprets some models as non-supersymmetric 10D heterotic compactifications with tachyon projection.

Topological symmetry in quantum field theory

hep-th · 2022-09-15 · unverdicted · novelty 5.0

Authors introduce a TFT-based framework for finite topological symmetries in QFT, including gauging, condensation defects, and duality defects, with an appendix on finite homotopy theories.

  • Wormholes as red herrings: reflection positivity and the reconstruction of unitary quantum field theories hep-th · 2026-07-01 · unverdicted · none · ref 113 · internal anchor

Unitary QFTs are determined up to unitary isomorphism by closed-manifold partition functions; every reflection-positive partition function comes from a unitary QFT, so spatial wormholes do not break Hilbert-space factorization once the full charged spectrum is included.
