This flux radius encompasses most of the disk and is far less influenced by fluctu- ations in central concentration (e.g.,due to bulges or bars) than radii which only consider smaller fractions of the galaxy light (A. W. Graham 2019). Choosing r90 over the more commonly-used half-light radius thus 13 considerably reduces the possibility of introducing a cor- relation between relative bar size and other galaxy prop- erties which also correlate with bulge strength (such as star-forming properties).
