Authors: We agree that the specification contains no experimental growth data or in-situ field measurements. Under US patent practice, however, a utility claim need only be enabled and have a specific, substantial, and credible utility; it does not require the applicant to furnish empirical proof of efficacy at filing. The rotating-field arrangement is presented as the novel apparatus whose intended agricultural use supplies the utility statement.
