We present the most general parametrisation of models of dark energy in the form of a scalar field which is explicitly coupled to dark matter. We follow and extend the Parameterized Post-Friedmannian approach, previously applied to modified gravity theories, in order to include interacting dark energy. We demonstrate its use through a number of worked examples and show how the initially large parameter space of free functions can be significantly reduced and constrained to include only a few non-zero coefficients. This paves the way for a model-independent approach to classify and test interacting dark energy theories.

  1. Disentangling Similarity and Relatedness in Topic Models

    cs.CL 2026-03 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

Topic models lie on a spectrum from thematic-relatedness-rich to similarity-rich, and that position predicts which downstream tasks they handle well.

  2. Phantom-divide crossing and suppressed structure growth in kinetically braided dark energy with momentum exchange

    astro-ph.CO 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A linearly stable kinetic-braiding dark-energy model with CDM momentum exchange realizes upward phantom-divide crossing and weak CDM gravitational clustering, altering matter and CMB spectra.

  3. Revisiting observational constraints on coupled exponential quintessence with energy and momentum transfers: degeneracy with massive neutrinos

    astro-ph.CO 2026-03 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Allowing the neutrino mass to vary removes the 2σ evidence for momentum transfer between dark energy and dark matter in coupled quintessence, via a degeneracy with the energy-exchange coupling.

  4. Dark sector interactions in the $w \rightarrow -1$ limit: velocity locking in pure momentum exchange models

    astro-ph.CO 2025-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

In momentum-exchange dark sector models, the suppression of matter clustering moves to smaller scales as w→−1 due to velocity locking, and ignoring DE perturbations erases this effect.
