We introduce various affine Grassmannians, study their geometric properties, and give some applications. We also discuss the geometric Satake equivalence. These are the expanded lecture notes for a mini-course in 2015 PCMI summer school. References updated and more details added.

  1. Diagonal cycles on Shtukas and the adjoint $L$-function

    math.NT 2026-07 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

For split almost simple groups over function fields, self-intersections of diagonal cycles on shtuka moduli, with determinant line-bundle insertions, equal higher derivatives of adjoint L-functions.

  2. The Moduli Stack of Breuil-Kisin Modules with Descent Data for Reductive Groups

    math.NT 2025-06 accept novelty 7.0 of 10

For tamely ramified reductive groups, the moduli stack of Breuil-Kisin modules with descent data and G-structure is shown to be smoothly equivalent to a twisted Schubert variety.

  3. TR and the $r$-Nygaard filtered prismatic cohomology

    math.AG 2024-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The paper defines an r-Nygaard filtration on prismatic cohomology and identifies the motivic filtration graded pieces of TR^r and its S1-fixed points with this filtration.

  4. Schubert varieties for the super affine Grassmannian of $GL_{n|m}$

    math.AG 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Explicit coordinate descriptions, equations, and morphisms for Schubert varieties in the super affine Grassmannian of GL_{1|1} and GL_{2|1}.

  5. Cyclic source pairings for Penrose--Sparling non-Hausdorff twistor spaces

    math.DG 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

An etale gluing groupoid models the Penrose-Sparling non-Hausdorff twistor space, and a relative cyclic pairing on the Coulomb line bundle recovers the charge n.
