abstract

This paper aims to provide an introduction to the problem of determining the mass-radius relationship for white dwarfs. Both Newtonian and general relativistic case are examined, electromagnetic interactions are considered and the problem of $\beta$-decay equilibrium is discussed in particular for Helium WD

    MAGIS Space and AEDGE could detect white-dwarf-binary mergers in the 10 mHz–1 Hz band, giving early warning of Type Ia supernova explosions at rates of roughly one every four years and a few hundred per year, respectively.
