The standard LambdaCDM cosmology passes demanding tests that establish it as a good approximation to reality. It is incomplete, with open questions and anomalies, but the same is true of all our physical theories. The anomalies in the standard cosmology might guide us to an even better theory. It has happened before.

  1. Probing the fate of large primordial perturbations with exoplanets

    astro-ph.CO 2026-06 conditional novelty 6.5 of 10

Observed ultra-wide exoplanets already constrain the amplitude and scale of primordial power-spectrum peaks that produce ultra-compact minihalos, with misalignment signatures as a future probe.

  2. Early-universe constraints on the electron mass

    hep-ph 2026-02 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Big Bang Nucleosynthesis and neutrino-decoupling data pin the early-universe electron mass to 0.504-0.510 MeV, within about 1.4% of the present laboratory value.

  3. Modelling Galaxy Clustering and Tomographic Galaxy-Galaxy Lensing with HSC Y3 and SDSS using the Point-Mass Correction Model and Redshift Self-Calibration

    astro-ph.CO 2025-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Combining SDSS clustering with HSC Y3 galaxy-galaxy lensing, with a point-mass correction down to 2 Mpc/h, gives S8 = 0.804 ± 0.051 and self-calibrated redshift shifts for the two highest source bins.

  4. Galaxy Superclusters and Their Complexes in the Cosmic Web

    astro-ph.CO 2025-05 conditional novelty 2.0 of 10

A review of galaxy superclusters that summarizes their properties and argues that the quasiregular pattern of rich superclusters and the Ho'oleilana structure are not explained by baryon acoustic oscillations.
