abstract
We note that the recently discovered 450 Hz frequency in the X-ray flux of the black hole candidate GRO J1655-40 is in a 3:2 ratio to the previously known 300 Hz frequency of quasi-periodic oscillations (QPO) in the same source. If the origin of high frequency QPOs in black hole systems is a resonance between orbital and epicyclic motion of accreting matter, as suggested previously, the angular momentum of the black hole can be accurately determined, given its mass. We find that the dimensionless angular momentum is in the range $0.2<j<0.65$ if the mass is in the (corresponding) range of 5.5 to 7.9 solar masses.

Geometric properties of slowly rotating black holes embedded in matter environments
The rotation of a surrounding dark-matter halo shifts the light ring, ISCO, epicyclic frequencies, and resonance locations of a slowly spinning black hole in a way that depends on the halo's angular velocity.

The relativistic restricted three-body problem: geometry and motion around tidally perturbed black holes
Increasing tidal deformation around a black hole drives bound geodesics through weak chaos, plunging, unbinding, and eventual depletion of all bound motion, with semi-analytic critical amplitudes for each transition.

Orbital Motion in Spacetimes Influenced by the Presence of Scalar and Electromagnetic Fields
Strong scalar fields around naked singularities can create stable circular orbits, and charged scalar-field spacetimes can host both stable and unstable photon orbits.

Generalizing the relativistic precession model of quasi-periodic oscillations through anharmonic corrections
Adding a quadratic radial correction changes the predicted lower QPO frequency near the ISCO, but fits to eight neutron stars show it is insufficient to rescue the relativistic precession model.

Detection and Characterization of Quasi-Periodic Oscillations in Seyfert Galaxy NGC 4151
A repeating X-ray signal with a period of about 28 minutes is claimed in two independent observations of NGC 4151, with uncorrected combined significance 5.2 sigma that falls to 3.2 sigma under the paper's strictest t...

Constraints on extra charges in dyonic Kerr-Newman-Kasuya-Taub-NUT black hole from the observations of quasi-periodic oscillations
Using QPO data from five X-ray binaries, the authors place upper limits on electric, magnetic, and NUT charges of a dyonic Kerr black hole, with a tentative nonzero NUT parameter in GRS 1915+105.

Testing loop quantum gravity by quasi-periodic oscillations: rotating blackholes
QPO data from GRO J1655-40 constrain the LQG parameter λ in the BCY rotating black hole metric to 0.15 (equal mass) and 0.11 (unequal mass), both consistent with Kerr.

Astronomical X-ray Polarimetry as a diagnostic for questions of fundamental Physics. What we learned from the Imaging X-Ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE)
A conference review of IXPE's first three years concludes that X-ray polarimetry is a promising new diagnostic for fundamental physics, with the most promising target being axion-like particle induced polarization in ...
