This is a set of lecture notes based on the lectures on the formation and evolution of galaxies which were given by S. White at Les Houches in August 1993. This postscript file does not contain the 16 figures. A version containing these figures can be obtained by writing to: Fr. C. Cosmic Velocity Flows: from Theory to Observations
A methods-heavy thesis presenting the Sahyadri simulation suite, calibrated filament reconstruction with Fourier smoothing, and the hierarchical Voronoi filament finder Skeletor, with phase-space analyses of filament ...

Artifacts in Halo Shapes: Imprints of the Initial Condition
Grid-based initial conditions imprint roughly one-percent alignment artifacts on simulated halo shapes, with a redshift-dependent sign flip whose origin is not yet pinned down.

Columba: isolated dwarf galaxy populations in diverse cosmological environments simulated with a cold interstellar medium
New hydrodynamical simulations show that dwarf galaxy stellar mass-halo mass relations and star formation histories are more influenced by host halo concentration than by the 5 cMpc scale environment.

Segmenting proto-halos with vision transformers
Vision transformer models segment proto-halo regions in initial cosmological density fields by final mass at z=0, outperforming both CNNs and the PINOCCHIO perturbation-theory code.
