Primordial black holes (PBHs) of stellar mass or heavier would accrete baryonic gas, which becomes denser and hotter, injecting energetic photons in the cosmological medium soon after cosmic recombination, in the so-called dark ages. The ionisation history of the universe would be altered, an effect cosmic microwave background (CMB) temperature and polarisation anisotropies is sensitive to. The magnitude of the effect depends on the abundance and mass distribution of the PBHs, as well as on still uncertain aspects of accretion luminosity. We review the current understanding of this field, with an emphasis on the peculiarities of the phenomenon in the cosmological context, and present the existing constraints on the PBH abundances.

  1. GW231123: A Possible Primordial Black Hole Origin

    astro-ph.CO 2025-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

GW231123's masses and high spins are consistent with primordial black holes that accreted mass and angular momentum in the early universe within the standard PBH framework.

  2. Forecasting Constraint on Primordial Black Hole Properties with the CSST $3\times2$pt Analysis

    astro-ph.CO 2025-11 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

    A mock-data forecast finds CSST 3x2pt can place an upper limit f_PBH m_PBH < 10^3.9 M_sun (68% CL) and improve Omega_m, sigma_8 and w precisions to 3.3%, 1.7%, 13%.

  3. January Food Benchmark (JFB): A Public Benchmark Dataset and Evaluation Suite for Multimodal Food Analysis

    cs.CV 2025-08 reject novelty 4.0 of 10

The abstract promises a food-image benchmark and a winning model, but the manuscript pages contain only a different paper on primordial black holes, leaving every benchmark claim unsubstantiated.
