abstract

The current discrepancy between the Hubble constant $H_0$ derived from the local distance ladder and from the cosmic microwave background is one of the most crucial issues in cosmology, as it possibly indicates unknown systematics or new physics. Here we present a novel non-parametric method to estimate Hubble constant as a function of redshift. We establish independent estimates of the evolution of Hubble constant by diagonalizing the covariance matrix. From type Ia supernovae and the observed Hubble parameter data, a decreasing trend of Hubble constant with a significance of 5.6$\sigma$ confidence level is found. At low redshift, its value is dramatically consistent with that measured from the local distance ladder, and it drops to the value measured from the cosmic microwave background at high redshift. Our results can relieve the Hubble tension, and prefer the late-time solutions of it, especially the new physics.

  1. BAO miscalibration cannot rescue late-time solutions to the Hubble tension

    astro-ph.CO 2025-10 accept novelty 6.0 of 10

Even after rescaling BAO data to prefer H0≈73 km/s/Mpc, none of six tested late-time dark-energy models can resolve the Hubble tension once unanchored SNeIa and CMB geometry are included.

  2. Can cosmic voids ease the Hubble tension? Local expansion in $w_0w_a$CDM

    astro-ph.CO 2026-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

A KBC-like local void lowers the SH0ES–Planck Hubble tension to about 2σ but cannot fully resolve it, and evolving dark energy shifts the required void depth by only ~1%.

  3. Tsallis-Cirto Hubble parameter: Explaining DESI data and High redshift Supermassive Black Hole

    astro-ph.GA 2025-06 unverdicted novelty 4.0 of 10

The paper tunes a non-comoving-fluid Hubble parameter to the CMB angular scale, then uses the same curve to claim consistency with DESI/CC data and enough time for high-redshift black holes to grow.
