  1. Monopoles, Center Vortices, Confinement in (3+1)d, and the Lens-Space Twisted Partition Function

    hep-th 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

Proposes torus and lens-space twisted partition functions as criteria for center-vortex and monopole condensation and proves vortex condensation implies monopole condensation in gapped phases.

  2. Fractional instantons in 2d $\mathbb{C}P^{N-1}$ model and 4d Yang-Mills theory with 't Hooft twists

    hep-th 2025-07 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Explicit theta-function solutions for fractional BPS lumps on a twisted torus are constructed, and the moduli space is a CP^(Nk+p-1) fiber bundle over a small torus, matching the index theorem.

  3. Fractional instantons and Confinement: first results on a $T_2\times R^2$ roadmap

    hep-lat 2025-02 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Monte Carlo data on a T2 x R2 geometry show that the SU(2) vacuum at small torus sizes is described by a gas of vortex-like fractional instantons, with string tension proportional to their density and a saturated near...
