This paper develops a novel performance evaluation framework for FAS operating under fully correlated Rayleigh fading, by modeling the FAS channel through extreme value distributions (EVDs). Closed-form expressions for the outage probability (OP) and ergodic capacity (EC) are then derived.
The FAS channel under full correlation can be accurately approximated by the Gumbel or GEV distribution whose parameters are obtained via the maximum likelihood criterion as explicit functions of the number of ports and antenna aperture size.
Develops EVD-based approximations for the FAS channel under full correlation to obtain closed-form OP and EC expressions.
