We derive a closed-form fidelity asymmetry tolerance delta(F) that governs whether a purification attempt is beneficial. We determine a universal upper bound delta_max of approximately 0.076 beyond which purification is always counterproductive.
The model assumes sequential generation of the two resource pairs with exponential memory decoherence and that the fidelity after swapping and purification follows the standard bilinear formula without additional noise sources.
A fidelity asymmetry tolerance of roughly 0.076 marks the point beyond which entanglement purification becomes counterproductive in quantum networks, and conditioning purification decisions on measured asymmetry improves end-to-end performance.
