Radiative cooling by CO, H2O, OH and H3+ suppresses hydrodynamic escape of H2 from an early Earth-like atmosphere even at carbon oxide mixing ratios below 1%, extending the H2 envelope lifetime by about an order of magnitude.
Here we define the lifetime for H2-rich atmosphere as the time for the amount of H2 to reach 0.1 bar equivalent
