abstract

Modern cosmology is built on the assumption that the Universe is homogeneous and isotropic on large scales - but this is challenged by results of the Ellis-Baldwin test that show an unexplained anomaly in the distribution of distant galaxies and quasars.

  • Multipolar structure of the local expansion rate from incomplete sky data astro-ph.CO · 2026-07-08 · conditional · none · ref 75 · internal anchor

CF4 data yield a 3.3σ excess dipole in the local expansion-rate fluctuation field at (l,b)=(290°,-4°)±5°, sourced mainly by z∈[0.03,0.05], with quadrupole/octupole consistent with ΛCDM and no multipole-vector alignments.
