In DC-readout Fabry-Perot GW detectors the shot-noise contribution does not fall with rising laser power because classical radiation pressure from the carrier leaks to the output port; this leakage vanishes only when the mirrors are tuned exactly to their radiation-pressure-shifted equilibrium.
