We prove conjecture due to Erickson-Semenoff-Zarembo and Drukker-Gross which relates supersymmetric circular Wilson loop operators in the N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory with a Gaussian matrix model. We also compute the partition function and give a new matrix model formula for the expectation value of a supersymmetric circular Wilson loop operator for the pure N=2 and the N=2* supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory on a four-sphere. A four-dimensional N=2 superconformal gauge theory is treated similarly.

  1. $S^3$ partition functions and Equivariant CY$_4 $/CY$_3$ correspondence from Quantum curves

    hep-th 2026-03 conditional novelty 7.0

Derives Airy representation for S^3 partition functions in M2-brane theories that exactly matches equivariant topological string predictions and proposes a new CY4 to C x CY3 correspondence via quantum curves.

  2. The nonlocal magic of a holographic Schwinger pair

    hep-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 6.0

Holographic Schwinger pair creation generates nonlocal magic for spacetime dimensions d>2, as shown by a non-flat entanglement spectrum that can be read from the probe brane free energy.

  3. Localisation of $\mathcal{N} = (2,2)$ theories on spindles of both twists

    hep-th 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 6.0

A general formula is derived for the exact partition function of abelian vector and charged chiral multiplets on both twisted and anti-twisted spindles.
