We investigate in detail the chiral thermal transition of QCD in an improved soft-wall AdS/QCD model with a simply modified 5D conformal mass of the bulk scalar field. We also present a calculation in this model for the light meson spectra and other low-energy characteristic quantities including the pion form factor, the pi-rho coupling constant and the decay constants of pi, rho, a_1, which are shown to result in a good agreement with experimental data except for the pion decay constant. The thermal behavior of chiral condensate is studied. It is found that such a simply improved soft-wall model incorporates the crossover behavior of chiral thermal transition indicated by lattice simulations. The expected chiral transition temperature can be obtained.

  1. Probing the chiral and $U(1)$ axial symmetry restoration via meson susceptibilities in holographic QCD

    hep-ph 2026-03 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

In a soft-wall holographic QCD model, chiral symmetry restores at ~155 MeV while the U(1) axial symmetry restores near 190 MeV — a separation the authors present despite an admitted mismatch with lattice QCD below 175 MeV.

  2. Scaling functions in the soft-wall AdS/QCD models

    hep-ph 2025-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Soft-wall AdS/QCD models reproduce mean-field chiral scaling functions and follow a T_c scaling law whose slope, tuned by a modified potential, can approach Dyson-Schwinger results.

  3. Dynamics of chiral phase transition in a $N_f=2+1$ soft-wall AdS/QCD model

    hep-ph 2025-07 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

In a 2+1 flavor soft-wall AdS/QCD model, the chiral condensate exhibits slow, non-trivial relaxation with a metastable plateau or overshoot when quenched close to the phase transition.
