The galaxy bispectrum, measuring excess clustering of galaxy triplets, offers a probe of dark energy via baryon acoustic oscillations (BAOs). However up to now it has been severely underused due to the combinatorically explosive number of triangles. Here we exploit interference in the bispectrum to identify triangles that amplify BAOs. This approach reduces the computational cost of estimating covariance matrices, offers an improvement in BAO constraints equivalent to lengthening BOSS by 30%, and simplifies adding bispectrum BAO information to future large-scale redshift survey analyses.

    astro-ph.CO 2025-04 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Closed-form analytic covariance templates for the 2, 3, and 4 point galaxy correlation functions, built from a 1/k power-law power spectrum, reproduce Boltzmann-code results at percent level and trace sparsity to clos...

  2. Bispectrum BAO and the baryon-dark matter relative velocity

    astro-ph.CO 2026-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

A template-based bispectrum-monopole BAO measurement is shown to be unbiased on simulations and, jointly with the power spectrum, to sharpen BAO constraints while exposing baryon-dark matter velocity biases.

  3. Modelling the matter bispectrum at small scales in modified gravity

    astro-ph.CO 2019-09 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

No existing matter-bispectrum model is accurate enough for Stage IV lensing surveys across the tested modified gravity theories, and a halo-model-corrected fitting formula is the most accurate option tested.
