abstract

In the computation of short-distance cross sections initiated by electrons and photons one can adopt the so-called structure-function approach, in which these particles play formally the same roles as hadrons do in QCD factorisation theorems, and must thus be associated with PDFs (equivalently known as structure functions in this context). At variance with their QCD counterparts, such PDFs are entirely calculable in QED. In this paper we present the results, at the next-to-leading order in the QED coupling constant $\alpha$, for the initial conditions of the unpolarised electron and photon PDFs, which are a necessary ingredient for their eventual collinear evolution at the next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy. We also compute the analogous final-state quantities, namely the initial conditions for fragmentation functions into electrons and photons.

  1. New results on small-x resummation for splitting functions

    hep-ph 2026-03 conditional novelty 8.0 of 10

A closed-form all-order expression for the qg anomalous dimension, plus new all-order results for the LL gluon anomalous dimension and the finite qg/gg Green functions, derived and implemented in HELL 4.0.

  2. Double neutral-current corrections to NLO electroweak leptonic cross sections

    hep-ph 2025-06 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A process-independent NNLO-type correction for vector-boson-fusion topologies is derived and added to NLO predictions, retaining exact W/Z mass dependence and QED resummation.

  3. An Optimal Transportation Approach for Improved Confidence Intervals

    stat.ME 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Optimal-transport couplings are used to construct confidence intervals that reduce coverage error relative to classical quantile-based intervals, with consistency theory and data-driven hyperparameters.

  4. Precision phenomenology at multi-TeV muon colliders

    hep-ph 2025-06 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Combining QED-resummed lepton PDFs, NLO electroweak corrections, and selected NNLO vector-boson-fusion terms gives percent-level predictions for ttbar and WW production at multi-TeV muon colliders, with caveats in the...
