abstract

We investigate gravitational microlensing signals produced by a spatially extended object transiting in front of a finite-sized source star. The most interesting features arise for lens and source sizes comparable to the Einstein radius of the setup. Using this information, we obtain constraints from the Subaru-HSC survey of M31 on the dark matter populations of NFW subhalos and boson stars of asteroid to Earth masses. These lens profiles capture the qualitative behavior of a wide range of dark matter substructures. We find that deviations from constraints on point-like lenses (e.g. primordial black holes and MACHOs) become visible for lenses of radius 0.1 $R_\odot$ and larger, with the upper bound on lens masses weakening with increasing lens size.

  1. BinaryGFH-v2: Improved method to search for gravitational waves from sub-solar-mass, ultra-compact binaries using the Generalized Frequency-Hough Transform

    gr-qc 2025-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

BinaryGFH-v2 is a modified GFH method that can search for inspiraling binaries with chirp masses 0.01–0.1 solar masses, validated in Gaussian noise and projected to constrain PBH dark matter.

  2. Constraining Dark Photon Dark Matter with Radio Silence from Soliton Mergers around Supermassive Black Holes

    hep-ph 2025-09 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Non-observation of radio bursts from soliton mergers around supermassive black holes constrains dark photon solitons to make up less than about 1% of dark matter, with future surveys reaching 0.2%.

  3. Gravitational wave signatures of primordial black hole accretion during early matter domination

    hep-ph 2025-05 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

PBHs that form in a radiation era and accrete during an early matter era could produce a two-peak GW background detectable by LISA or BBO for asteroid-mass PBHs as all of dark matter.

  4. Wide binaries in ultra-faint dwarf galaxies as a probe of extended dark objects

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Wide binaries in Boötes I exclude dark-matter fractions down to ~10^-3 to 10^-2 for extended dark objects between 0.1 and 3000 solar masses with radii up to 10^7 solar radii, implying P_R ≲ 5×10^-6 at k ≈ 4×10^2-3×10^...

  5. Constraining primordial black holes and primordial curvature power spectrum with extragalactic muon neutrino

    astro-ph.CO 2026-07 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

    Neutrino flux from WIMP annihilation in PBH-seeded UCMHs yields f_PBH ≲ 4×10^{-5} (strongest) and P_R ≲ 10^{-1.65} at k∼3×10^{12} Mpc^{-1}.

  6. New bounds on Memory Burdened Primordial Black Holes from Big Bang Nucleosynthesis

    astro-ph.CO 2025-06 reject novelty 4.0 of 10

Memory-burdened primordial black holes lighter than 10^9 grams are newly constrained by Big Bang nucleosynthesis, with a residual unconstrained window around 1-100 grams for suppression index k=2.
