abstract

We present the first calculation of the scattering amplitude in the singlet channel beyond QCD. The calculation is performed in $SU(2)$ gauge theory with $N_f=2$ fundamental Dirac fermions and based on a finite-volume scattering formalism. The theory exhibits a $SU(4) \to Sp(4)$ chiral symmetry breaking pattern that is used to design minimal composite Higgs models currently tested at the LHC. Our results show that, for the range of underlying fermion mass considered, the lowest flavour singlet state is stable.

  1. Meson spectroscopy in the $Sp(4)$ gauge theory with three antisymmetric fermions

    hep-lat 2024-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Lattice simulations of Sp(4) with three antisymmetric Dirac fermions find QCD-like confinement and chiral symmetry breaking, and provide a first continuum-extrapolated meson spectrum.

  2. The singlet scalar state in a chiral ensemble in $SU(2)$ with two fundamental flavours

    hep-lat 2025-02 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

The first lattice measurement of the sigma mass with exponential clover fermions in SU(2) with two fundamental flavours finds the effective mass agrees with the two-pion threshold, 2 m_PS.
