We show that it is possible to directly measure the formation time of galaxies using large-scale structure. In particular, we show that the large-scale distribution of galaxies is sensitive to whether galaxies form over a narrow period of time before their observed times, or are formed over a time scale on the order of the age of the Universe. Along the way, we derive simple recursion relations for the perturbative terms of the most general bias expansion for the galaxy density, thus fully extending the famous dark-matter recursion relations to generic tracers.

  1. Two-loop renormalization and running of galaxy bias

    astro-ph.CO 2025-07 accept novelty 7.0 of 10

Galaxy bias renormalization is extended to two loops for the complete fifth-order operator basis, with a single universal function controlling double-hard limits and new two-loop renormalization group equations.

  2. Floquet Dissipative Phase Transitions

    quant-ph 2026-03 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Dissipative phase transitions in Floquet open systems are defined through the Floquet propagator spectrum, with applications to driven Kerr resonators and the quantum Rabi model.

  3. Equivalence of the field-level inference and conventional analyses on large scales

    astro-ph.CO 2025-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A joint power spectrum, bispectrum and trispectrum analysis achieves the same precision on the density amplitude as field-level inference for halos on large scales.
