We catalogue and study three-Higgs-doublet models in terms of all possible allowed symmetries (continuous and discrete, Abelian and non-Abelian), where such symmetries may be identified as flavour symmetries of quarks and leptons. We analyse the potential in each case, and derive the conditions under which the vacuum alignments (0,0,v), (0,v,v) and (v,v,v) are minima of the potential. For the alignment (0,0,v), relevant for dark matter models, we calculate the corresponding physical Higgs boson mass spectrum. Motivated by supersymmetry, we extend the analysis to the case of three up-type Higgs doublets and three down- type Higgs doublets (six doublets in total). Many of the results are also applicable to flavon models where the three Higgs doublets are replaced by three electroweak singlets.

  1. GOOFy-compatible 3HDMs and beyond

    hep-ph 2026-08 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A GOOFy-compatible quadratic sector requires a sign character realized in R*otimesR, and the RG stability of the 2HDM r0 relation is a unique SU(2) accident.

  2. The Hilbert Series and the Flavor Invariants of the 3HDM

    hep-th 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

The full multigraded Hilbert series of the 3HDM is computed in closed form, and a basis of SU(3)-invariant operators is constructed up to cubic order in the quartic couplings.

  3. Deconstructed Weak Isospin from a Symplectic Symmetry

    hep-ph 2026-03 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

An Sp(6) completion of deconstructed weak isospin predicts six new flavour-changing gauge bosons and pushes the intermediate SU(2)^3 breaking scale above ~550 TeV (or ~150 TeV at large scale separation) via K/D mixing...

  4. Systematic analysis of 3HDM symmetries

    hep-ph 2025-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A systematic catalogue of realisable Higgs-family, general-CP, and GOOFy/T-GOOFy symmetries in three-Higgs-doublet models, with new invariant potentials and a corrected U(1)◦V4 group structure.

  5. Domain Walls from $\Sigma(36 \times 3)$, $\Delta(54)$ and $\Delta(27)$ potentials

    hep-ph 2026-03 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Degenerate vacua of Δ(27)/Δ(54)/Σ(36×3) scalar potentials give rise to one or two distinct domain-wall types depending on which orbits merge under CP or enlarged symmetries.

  6. Inert dark matter in three Higgs doublet model: a blind spot narrative

    hep-ph 2025-08 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

In a Z3 x Z2-symmetric three-Higgs-doublet model with one inert doublet, the tree-level dark matter-nucleon scattering cross-section can vanish in a blind spot set by the dark sector mass splitting.

  7. Flavor Constraints in a Generational Three Higgs Doublet Model

    hep-ph 2025-02 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

A generational three-Higgs-doublet model is constructed, and flavor constraints show that its additional Higgs bosons can be as light as about 1.5 TeV if the only flavor violation is the minimal amount needed to repro...
