abstract

Dipole interactions between dark sector states or between a Standard Model particle and a dark state can efficiently be searched for via high-intensity fixed-target facilities. We propose to look for the associated mono-$\gamma$ signature at the NA62 experiment running in beam dump mode. Focusing on models of dipole inelastic Dark Matter and active-sterile neutrino dipole interactions, we compute the corresponding expected sensitivities finding promising prospects for discovery already with $\sim10^{17}$ proton-on-target, corresponding to the present accumulated dataset.

  1. Resonant electromagnetic leptogenesis with coherent heavy-neutrino evolution

    hep-ph 2026-03 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Resonant electromagnetic leptogenesis from TeV-scale neutrino dipole operators can reach the observed baryon asymmetry, but only with tuned mass splittings and diluted overproduction.

  2. Heavy neutral leptons and top quarks in effective field theory

    hep-ph 2025-01 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Long-lived heavy neutral leptons produced via top-quark effective operators could be probed at the HL-LHC up to new-physics scales around 12 TeV at ATLAS and 4.5 TeV at MATHUSLA or ANUBIS.

  3. Neutrino electromagnetic properties and sterile dipole portal in light of the first solar CE$\nu$NS data

    hep-ph 2024-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The paper derives the first 90% CL limits on neutrino magnetic moments, millicharges, and the sterile dipole portal from solar 8B CEνNS data in XENONnT and PandaX-4T.

  4. Electromagnetic leptogenesis with light-heavy sterile neutrinos

    hep-ph 2025-01 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

A leptogenesis model generates the baryon asymmetry at the TeV scale through two-body decays of heavy right-handed neutrinos to lighter sterile neutrinos via a dimension-5 electromagnetic dipole operator, with implica...
