We review the theoretical underpinning of the Higgs mechanism of electroweak symmetry breaking and the experimental status of Higgs measurements from a pedagogical perspective. The possibilities and motivations for new physics in the symmetry breaking sector are discussed along with current measurements. A focus is on the implications of measurements in the Higgs sector for theoretical insights into extensions of the Standard Model. We also discuss of future prospects for Higgs physics and new analysis techniques.

  1. Neural Control Variates at LO and NLO

    hep-ph 2026-07 accept novelty 7.0 of 10

Signed neural control variates from normalizing flows, combined with neural importance sampling, reduce weight ranges and negative weights for LO and NLO phase-space integration and event generation.

  2. Electroweak and QCD Corrections to $Z$ and $W$ pole observables in the SMEFT

    hep-ph 2019-09 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

The complete NLO electroweak and QCD corrections to Z and W pole observables in the SMEFT shift fitted Wilson coefficient bounds by 5 to 10 percent and introduce 22 new operator dependencies.

  3. Agentic Re-Casting using Agentic Re-Simulations

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

An agentic AI system with a physicist in the loop re-casts an ATLAS ttZ measurement into a global top-quark SMEFT fit and recovers injected coloron Wilson coefficients in a repeatable benchmark.

  4. $\mathcal{CP}$-Analyses with Symbolic Regression

    hep-ph 2025-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Symbolic regression produces analytic, detector-level CP-odd observables for WBF Higgs production and an analytic reconstruction of the Collins-Soper angle in ttH that are competitive with black-box ML and classical methods.

  5. The Two Scales of New Physics in Loop-Induced Higgs Couplings

    hep-ph 2024-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A deviation in the loop-induced Higgs couplings hgg, hγγ, or hZγ caused solely by new vectorlike fermions implies an upper bound on the mass scale of new bosons needed to restore perturbativity and vacuum stability.

  6. Probing the Symmetric Higgs Portal with Di-Higgs Boson Production

    hep-ph 2019-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Di-Higgs production at a future 100 TeV hadron collider can probe Higgs portal couplings of a stable scalar of order one for masses above half the Higgs mass.

  7. Exploring anomalous couplings in Higgs boson pair production through shape analysis

    hep-ph 2019-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Anomalous Higgs couplings change the shape of the di-Higgs mass distribution, and an unsupervised clustering algorithm captures those shape differences more finely than a hand-defined taxonomy.

  8. Benchmarking simplified template cross sections in $WH$ production

    hep-ph 2019-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

For W H production, the proposed simplified template cross sections with six pT,W bins and three mT,tot bins recover more new-physics information than the current stage 1.1 binning, but still less than a full multivar...

  9. A comprehensive study of the charged Higgs boson in the two Higgs doublet type-II seesaw model

    hep-ph 2025-08 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

Charged Higgs production rates and 5-sigma discovery regions at a 3 TeV muon collider are computed for the 2HDMcT Type-III seesaw model, with the H1+ H1- channel exceeding the e+e- rate.

    hep-ph 2025-01 conditional novelty 2.0 of 10

A thesis compiling published SMEFT global fits, automated UV-model constraints, and ML-based unbinned observables, with projections for HL-LHC, FCC-ee, and CEPC.
