abstract
We explain how the spacetime diffeomorphism in the classical bosonic closed string field theory (SFT) is represented as $L_\infty$ gauge transformations in weakly curved backgrounds. In particular, we demonstrate the explicit map between covariant spacetime fields and the string fields in the flat-vertex frame to the leading few orders in perturbation theory. We further consider a Batalin-Vilkovisky system of extended string fields that manifests diffeomorphism invariance and allows for extending certain perturbative SFT solutions to the large field regime.

Covariant phase space and $L_\infty$ algebras
A covariant phase space symplectic form is constructed for any L∞ Lagrangian field theory using a 'sigmoid' operator, and is verified in scalar, Yang-Mills, general relativity, and p-adic string examples.

Type II RR string fields and exotic diffeomorphisms
The paper computes explicit gauge transformations and interactions for all Ramond-Ramond fields in type II string field theory, revealing diffeomorphisms that are not standard Lie derivatives.

Symplectic structure in open string field theory III: Electric field
OSFT symplectic energy of a constant-electric-flux D-brane matches the DBI energy via a generalized Ellwood invariant for nonpolynomial theories.

On the $AdS_5\times S^5$ Solution of Superstring Field Theory
The AdS5 x S5 background of type IIB superstring field theory is constructed explicitly to third order in the large-radius expansion, with maximal super-isometry verified to second order and the massless RR axion iden...

Gauge algebra and diffeomorphisms in string field theory
To leading order in derivatives, the superstring gauge algebra of diffeomorphisms is independent of the off-shell vertex choice, whereas bosonic strings retain off-shell dependence for non-symmetric vertices.
