In view of the very precise measurements on fermion couplings which will be performed at ILC250 with polarized beams, there is emerging evidence that the LEP1/SLC measurements on these couplings are an order of magnitude too imprecise to match the accuracies reachable at ILC250. This will therefore severely limit the indirect sensitivity to new resonances and require revisiting the possibility to run ILC at the Z pole with polarized electrons. This work was done as a contribution to the ESU 2018-2020.

  1. CKM matrix and FCNC suppression in $SO(5) \times U(1) \times SU(3)$ gauge-Higgs unification

    hep-ph 2019-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

In the SO(5) x U(1) x SU(3) gauge-Higgs unification model, gauge-invariant brane couplings can generate an approximately correct CKM matrix while suppressing FCNCs below 10^-6 of the weak interactions, at the cost of ...

  2. Tests of the Standard Model at the International Linear Collider

    hep-ex 2019-08 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

The paper projects that a polarized e+e- collider at 250 GeV to 1 TeV would measure most Higgs couplings to sub-percent precision and improve many electroweak observables by an order of magnitude.
