abstract

We present a detailed quark-model study of pion photoproduction within the effective Lagrangian approach. Cross sections and single-polarization observables are investigated for the four charge channels, $\gamma p\to \pi^+ n$, $\gamma n\to \pi^- p$, $\gamma p\to \pi^0 p$, and $\gamma n\to \pi^0 n$. Leaving the $\pi N\Delta$ coupling strength to be a free parameter, we obtain a reasonably consistent description of these four channels from threshold to the first resonance region. Within this effective Lagrangian approach, strongly constrainted by the quark model, we consider the issue of double-counting which may occur if additional {\it t}-channel contributions are included.

  1. Higher excited charmed and charmed-strange mesons in an unquenched quark model

    hep-ph 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Unquenched quark model calculations show coupled-channel effects lower masses of higher D and Ds excitations; D_s1(2933) is assigned as mixed D_s(2P1), D_sJ(3040) favors D_s(3^1S0), while D(3000) fits none of the 3S/2...

    hep-ph 2025-02 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Using direct meson emission, color suppressed, and pole terms in a quark model, the authors reproduce most measured Xi_c decay branching ratios and predict asymmetry parameters, while failing one measured asymmetry sign.
