To investigate the possible effects of a light hidden sector on Higgs boson detection, we discuss a model of scalar singlets coupled to the Standard Model. The model effectively makes the Higgs width a free parameter due to additional invisible decay modes. This width can become arbitrarily large. Theoretical and experimental bounds on model parameters are presented. It is shown, how Standard Model predictions change and that in the case of large coupling, Higgs signals will be diluted. We study, to which extent such a strongly coupled, hidden sector can be excluded by present and future Higgs search experiments.

  1. Phenomenology of a Kinetic Higgs Portal

    hep-ph 2025-10 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A momentum-dependent Higgs portal can hide invisible decays, make four-top production the most sensitive probe, and open a dark-matter region immune to direct detection.

  2. Probing the Symmetric Higgs Portal with Di-Higgs Boson Production

    hep-ph 2019-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Di-Higgs production at a future 100 TeV hadron collider can probe Higgs portal couplings of a stable scalar of order one for masses above half the Higgs mass.

  3. Study of ZZ and ZH production in the bb$\tau\tau$ final state and search for high-mass spin-0 and spin-1 resonances in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV

    hep-ex 2026-07 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

CMS sets 95% CL upper limits on σ(X)B(X→ZZ) (300 pb–24 fb) and σ(Z')B(Z'→ZH) (0.4 pb–12 fb) for resonances up to 6 TeV in the bbττ channel with no SM deviation observed.

  4. Constraining Multiple Kinetically Mixed Dark Photons

    hep-ph 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Develops a statistical framework to constrain multiple kinetically mixed dark photons using standard experimental probes and distributions for mixing parameters.

  5. Linking the Gauge Hierarchy with Neutrino Masses and Dark Matter via Two-step Cosmological Selection

    hep-ph 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 4.0 of 10

A multiverse cosmological selection mechanism in an SM extension with scalar singlet and RH neutrinos under B-L dynamically fixes the EW scale while addressing neutrino masses, leptogenesis, and dark matter.

  6. The Dark Photon

    hep-ph 2020-05 unverdicted novelty 2.0 of 10

The paper surveys theoretical motivations, experimental searches, and bounds on the dark photon as a kinetically mixed gauge boson from a dark sector, covering both massive and massless cases along with related milli-...
