We demonstrate a measure for the effective number of parameters constrained by a posterior distribution in the context of cosmology. In the same way that the mean of the Shannon information (i.e. the Kullback-Leibler divergence) provides a measure of the strength of constraint between prior and posterior, we show that the variance of the Shannon information gives a measure of dimensionality of constraint. We examine this quantity in a cosmological context, applying it to likelihoods derived from Cosmic Microwave Background, large scale structure and supernovae data. We show that this measure of Bayesian model dimensionality compares favourably both analytically and numerically in a cosmological context with the existing measure of model complexity used in the literature.

unimpeded: A Public Grid of Nested Sampling Chains for Cosmological Model Comparison and Tension Analysis
A public library of pre-computed nested-sampling chains for 8 cosmological models and a large dataset grid enables fast Bayesian model comparison; combined analyses most often prefer ΛCDM, with DES–Planck and SH0ES–Pl...

Updated observational constraints on $\phi$CDM dynamical dark energy cosmological models
Updated φCDM constraints from Planck 2018 + non-CMB data find α=0.055±0.041, consistent with a cosmological constant and only mildly favoring evolving quintessence.

Approximating non-Gaussian Bayesian partitions with normalising flows: statistics, inference and application to cosmology
Normalising flows can evaluate Bayesian partition functions, entropies, and lower-order moments of non-Gaussian posteriors, but the proposed derivative-based flow expansion fails for skewness and kurtosis.

Is excess smoothing of Planck CMB ansiotropy data partially responsible for evidence for dark energy dynamics in other $w(z)$CDM parametrizations?
In three new w(z)CDM parametrizations, Planck CMB plus non-CMB data favor evolving dark energy over a cosmological constant at roughly 2 sigma when the Planck lensing anomaly parameter is fixed, and at roughly 1 sigma...
