We study the W/Z pair production via two-photon exchange at the LHC and give the sensitivities on trilinear and quartic gauge anomalous couplings between photons and W/Z bosons for an integrated luminosity of 30 and 200 fb^{-1}. For simplicity and to obtain lower backgrounds, only the leptonic decays of the electroweak bosons are considered.

  1. New physics and tau $g-2$ using LHC heavy ion collisions

    hep-ph 2019-08 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Using ultraperipheral lead-lead collisions, a lepton-plus-tracks analysis could constrain the tau anomalous magnetic moment to -0.0080 < a_tau < 0.0046 at 68% CL, three times better than DELPHI.

  2. Observation of the electroweak production of $\gamma\gamma jj$ at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV in $140\ \text{fb}^{-1}$ of $pp$ collision data with the ATLAS detector

    hep-ex 2026-07 accept novelty 6.0 of 10

ATLAS observes the electroweak production of gamma-gamma plus two jets at 6.2 sigma and measures 13.8 fb, consistent with the Standard Model.

  3. Search for Vector-mediated Dark Matter at the LHC with Forward Proton Tagging

    hep-ph 2019-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Forward-proton-tagged photon-induced production of a leptophobic Z' mediator would exclude mZ' below about 1.4 TeV at 14 TeV and 3000 fb^-1, with a dark matter mass bound near 550 GeV for the vector benchmark.

  4. CP Polarimetry with Linearly Polarized Photon Fusion and Double-Tagged Protons

    hep-ph 2026-08 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

The CP-mixing angle of a photon-coupled spin-zero resonance shifts the second harmonic in the azimuthal angle between the two tagged protons, enabling a decay-analyzer-independent CP measurement.

  5. Production of $W^+ W^-$ and $t \bar t$ pairs via photon-photon processes in proton-proton collisions

    hep-ph 2019-07 unverdicted novelty 2.0 of 10

Review summarizing cross-section results for photon-photon production of WW and ttbar pairs in pp collisions with discussion of structure functions and rapidity gap survival.
