Scalar-tensor theories of gravity can be formulated in the Jordan or in the Einstein frame, which are conformally related. The issue of which conformal frame is physical is a contentious one; we provide a straightforward example based on gravitational waves in order to clarify the issue.

  1. Canonical Clock Sectors and Relational Frame Equivalence in Brans--Dicke Theory

    gr-qc 2026-07 accept novelty 6.0 of 10

Apparent Jordan–Einstein inequivalence after relational deparametrization is a clock-sector mismatch; a frame-adapted canonical chart restores identical reduced Hamiltonians.

  2. Entropic route to Brown-York tensor: A unified framework for null and timelike hypersurfaces

    gr-qc 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

An entropy functional yields the Brown-York tensor via conjugate momentum projection, unifying null and timelike hypersurfaces and reproducing equations in scalar-tensor gravity.

  3. Direct detection of solar chameleons with electron recoil data from XENONnT

    hep-ph 2025-11 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

XENONnT electron-recoil data bound solar chameleons to log10 β_eff < −6.9, independent of the potential index n for inverse power-law chameleons at the dark-energy scale.

  4. Could a so far ignored symmetry of the classical laws of gravity explain the cosmological puzzles?

    gr-qc 2025-10 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Weyl symmetry of gravity is restored if masses transform as m → Ω^{-1}m under conformal changes, allowing any matter to couple invariantly and potentially accounting for dark energy and dark matter.

  5. The Unknown Face of Scalar-Tensor Gravitational Theories

    gr-qc 2025-03 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

The conformal frame problem in scalar-tensor theories stems from incomplete transformation rules for parameters and overlooked Ward identities; active conformal transformations provide the suitable framework while pas...

  6. Interplay of magnetic field and chemical potential induced anisotropy and frame dependent chaos of a $Q\bar{Q}$ pair in holographic QCD

    hep-th 2024-11 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

In a holographic QCD model, chaotic string dynamics appear only for unstable configurations near the horizon, and magnetic field and chemical potential affect chaos oppositely in string and Einstein frames.

  7. Conformal form-invariant parametrization of scalar-tensor gravity theories: A critical analysis

    gr-qc 2025-04 unverdicted novelty 2.0 of 10

A critical review of conformal form-invariant parametrization in scalar-tensor theories, testing its novelty relative to existing frames and the universality of frame-invariant physical predictions.
