abstract

We report an axion dark matter search at Dine-Fischler-Srednicki-Zhitnitskii sensitivity with the CAPP-12TB haloscope, assuming axions contribute 100\% of the local dark matter density. The search excluded the axion--photon coupling $g_{a\gamma\gamma}$ down to about $6.2\times10^{-16}$ GeV$^{-1}$ over the axion mass range between 4.51 and 4.59 $\mu$eV at a 90\% confidence level. The achieved experimental sensitivity can also exclude Kim-Shifman-Vainshtein-Zakharov axion dark matter that makes up just 13\% of the local dark matter density. The CAPP-12TB haloscope will continue the search over a wide range of axion masses.

  1. Dark Matter Haloscope with a Disordered Dielectric Absorber

    hep-ph 2025-05 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A disordered dielectric powder can act as a broadband dark-matter-to-photon conversion target, and the proposed DPHaSE experiment could probe QCD axions and dark photons in the 10 meV to 1 eV range.

  2. Catalogues of Cosmologically Self-Consistent Hadronic QCD Axion Models

    hep-ph 2024-12 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Hadronic axion models with d=6 and d=7 heavy-quark decay operators can produce two new cosmologically viable 'islands' at f_a ~ 10^12 and 10^14 GeV, extending the post-inflationary axion search window.

  3. Axiverse Lampposts

    hep-ph 2026-02 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

In a hierarchical multi-axion theory with random couplings, axion field ranges shrink with 1/sqrt(N), generic axion–SM couplings are suppressed, but the QCD axion's coupling is unsuppressed.

  4. Probing the axion-electron coupling at cavity experiments

    hep-ph 2025-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Cavity walls radiate microwave photons when axion dark matter generates a chiral magnetic current at the conductor surface, turning existing haloscope data into a bound on the axion-electron coupling g_ae ≲ 10^-5.

  5. Search for dark-matter axions beyond the quantum limit: the Cosmological Axion Sarov Haloscope (CASH) proposal

    hep-ph 2025-06 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The CASH haloscope proposal projects that Josephson-junction single-photon detectors can reach axion-photon couplings below 1e-15 GeV^-1 in the 38-54 micro-eV mass range, beating the standard quantum limit.

  6. Exploration of new experimental strategies for the detection of ultralight dark matter : laboratory searches on ground and in space

    hep-ph 2024-11 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The thesis derives detailed theoretical sensitivities for several ultralight dark matter detection schemes, including a corrected dish-antenna model showing that focused power is much lower than previously assumed.

  7. Dark Matter Axion Detection with Neural Networks at Ultra-Low Signal-to-Noise Ratio

    hep-ex 2024-11 reject novelty 4.0 of 10

A simulated neural-network classifier is claimed to cut axion-haloscope integration time by 5,000x, but the figure follows from an invalid accuracy-to-SNR conversion.

  8. Axion-like Particle Conversion in the Solar Magnetic Field

    hep-ph 2025-01 unverdicted

A proceedings review that restates the ALP-photon conversion forecasts and NuSTAR limits from two previous papers, with no new results.

  9. Status and Perspectives on Axion Searches

    hep-ph 2024-12 conditional

A concise review of axion and ALP search experiments, their recent limits, and upcoming projects.
