abstract

This paper studies a class of four-dimensional quantum field theories which arise by quantizing local holomorphic field theories on twistor space. These theories have some remarkable properties: in particular, all correlation functions are rational functions. The two main examples are the $WZW_4$ model of Donaldson and Losev, Moore, Nekrasov and Shatashvili, and self-dual Yang-Mills theory. In each case, anomalies on twistor space must be cancelled by a Green-Schwarz mechanism, which introduces additional fields. For $WZW_4$, this only works for $G = SO(8)$ and the additional field is gravitational. For self-dual Yang-Mills, this works for $SU(2)$, $SU(3)$, $SO(8)$ and the exceptional groups, and the additional field is an axion.

  1. S-algebra in Gauge Theory: Twistor, Spacetime and Holographic Perspectives

    hep-th 2025-06 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

The celestial S-algebra is shown to unify the twistor, null-infinity, and twisted-holography descriptions of self-dual Yang-Mills, with new two-helicity charges and a nonlinear extrapolate dictionary.

  2. Associativity is enough: an all-orders 2d chiral algebra for 4d form factors

    hep-th 2024-12 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Associativity and symmetry determine the all-loop 2d chiral algebra OPEs for twistorial self-dual Yang-Mills, with one coefficient, c, left only as an order-by-order solution.

  3. The One-Loop QCD $\beta$-Function as an Index

    hep-th 2025-10 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The one-loop QCD beta-function coefficient b and the Weyl anomaly difference a-c are computed as the first Chern class of a determinant line bundle via Grothendieck-Riemann-Roch on twistor space.

  4. Fixed points of classical gravity coupled with a Standard-Model-like theory

    hep-th 2025-09 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A free conformal matter content with n1/2=4n1 and n'_0=3n1 gives a UV fixed point where all stress tensor correlators are finite; the Standard Model with right-handed neutrinos and 36 four-derivative scalars is such a theory.

  5. Rational QCD loop amplitudes and quantum theories on twistor space

    hep-th 2024-11 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Twistor-space anomaly cancellation yields linear relations among all-plus and one-minus one-loop QCD gluon subamplitudes, and the number of independent amplitudes is the unsigned Stirling number c(n-1,3) for n up to 8.

  6. Celestial Chiral Algebras and Self-Dual Gravity

    hep-th 2025-07 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

This thesis derives deformations of celestial chiral algebras in self-dual gravity on curved backgrounds, obtaining W(infinity) on Eguchi-Hanson space, Ldiff_q(C) under Moyal deformation, and a two-parameter deformati...

  7. 2d theory for asymptotic dynamics of 4d (self-dual) Einstein gravity

    hep-th 2024-12 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

A 2d chiral action on the momentum-space celestial sphere is shown to reproduce BMS and w1+∞ symmetries, stress tensors, and soft dressing of 4d self-dual gravity.
