We develop a perturbative expansion which allows the construction of non-abelian self-dual SU(2) Yang-Mills field configurations on the four-dimensional torus with topological charge 1/2. The expansion is performed around the constant field strength abelian solutions found by 't Hooft. Next to leading order calculations are compared with numerical results obtained with lattice gauge theory techniques.

  1. D-branes and fractional instantons on a twisted four torus: the moduli space as an N=2 supersymmetric Higgs branch

    hep-th 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

The local moduli space of self-dual fractional instantons (Q = r/N) on a twisted four-torus is the Higgs branch of an N=2 supersymmetric theory, obtained via wrapped intersecting D-brane configurations.

  2. The gluino condensate of large-$N$ SUSY Yang-Mills

    hep-lat 2024-12 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

The large-N SUSY gluino condensate is computed on the lattice for the first time and agrees, within errors, with the weak-coupling instanton value.
