We study a tight-binding model of interacting Majorana (Hermitian) modes on a square lattice. The model may have an experimental realization in a superconducting-film--topological-insulator heterostructure in a magnetic field. We find a rich phase diagram, as a function of interaction strength, including a superfluid phase with spontaneous breaking of an emergent $U(1)$ symmetry, separated by a supersymmetric transition from a gapless normal phase.

  1. Symmetry-Enforced Fermi Surfaces

    cond-mat.str-el 2025-12 unverdicted novelty 7.0

A noncompact Lie group symmetry generated by U(1) fermion number and Majorana translations enforces Fermi surfaces that generically have at least two noncontractible components in d-dimensional Bravais lattices.

  2. Tori, Klein Bottles, and Modulo 8 Parity/Time-reversal Anomalies of 2+1d Staggered Fermions

    hep-th 2026-01 unverdicted novelty 5.0

Staggered fermions in 2+1d show modulo 8 parity/time-reversal anomalies that match between lattice and continuum when placed on tori and Klein bottles via a nontrivial symmetry map.
